Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On the 21st of October, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP on the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. In the following calendar, her songs was played all over Dreamville. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had been hired with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she sang alongside Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing in the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. In 2018, she went on to appear on two songs with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video later released in September. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. They then teamed up in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany her debut album with the same title. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019 that surpassed three million views on YouTube within one week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
